Johnson & Wales Way/Fourth Street Extension Project Update

Joe Frey, the project manager (of City of Charlotte Engineering & Property Management) issued an update this past Friday.  An excerpt:
"Greetings all.  First, I want to apologize that there has not been any communication from us regarding the project in a while.  Work is ongoing though and I wanted to share the latest update with you ... The big news is that the Tuckaseegee Road portion of the project will actually be happening this month.  It happened that Tuckaseegee Rd was scheduled to be resurfaced this year.  So we worked it that along with the resurfacing we will also restripe to reduce the travel lanes and add bike lanes [per] the project plans.  There will be some additional sidewalk and median work when we do full project construction later, but this will achieve a major goal of the project now.  We expect to get the plans to 50% complete by the end of the year and at that time we will most likely have another stakeholder meeting to field questions.
Once again, thank you for your interest and input regarding the project.  As always, should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me."
Further information is in the postcard.
