Congratulations to CMPD

Yesterday's Observer profiled a drastic drop in crime in Charlotte for 2009, for which Chief Monroe and all of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department deserve congratulations!  The print edition of the article presented graphs illustrating per capita homicides, violent crimes, and property crimes at or near historic lows since modern record keeping began in 1977.
Third Ward enjoys frequent interaction with our Area Commander, Sergeant Pellicone, and Community Officers Stillman and Welch.  In 2008 we were one of the first neighborhoods to be honored with a visit from the then newly-installed Chief Monroe.  We are fortunate to enjoy the fruits of your work in Third Ward and beyond, and applaud your success.
