High Speed Rail, Streetcar, and Third Ward

Last week's announcement that money earmarked for high speed rail (HSR) will have a direct impact on Third Ward.  According to this Observer article, $100 million will come to Uptown Charlotte to prepare bridges and at-grade crossings for HSR and future North Line service.
Also of interest is a planned HSR maintenance facility on the south side of Bank of America Stadium.  It is unknown if this facility would or could be combined with the planned North Line maintenance facility.  Stay tuned.
Do you want to design Streetcar stops?  Join the charrette on Thursday, February 18th, 6:00p in room 267 of the Government Center.
