Just a reminder that we are going to be having our next Neighborhood Association Meeting this coming Monday at 6:00 at the Gateway YMCA. We have Ryan Johnston coming in to talk about Romare Bearden Park and update us what is happening with the County Commissioners vote. We will also have CMPD come in to give us their neighborhood report. Looking forward to seeing you there.

At 160 years, Saint Peter's Catholic Church is the oldest building on South Tryon Street. The parish will be celebrating with The Big Brew Ha, a "moonlight breakfast" at the Mint Museum Uptown on Friday, April 15, 2011, from 7:30p – 10:30p.
"The Big Brew Ha focuses on two unique ideas:
- A celebration of all things brewed – coffee, tea and beer!
- Tasty beverages with steam, foam or whip paired with what many enjoy at night – BREAKFAST! (Yes, when beer was first created, it was served as a breakfast drink!)
A festive and friendly atmosphere will be generated with activities such as a balloon pop in which guests pay to pop a balloon to determine their winnings (i.e. gift certificate to restaurant), and a “Brew Pong” tournament (a version of “beer pong” in which contestants accrue points by tapping the beer cup with the ping pong ball or even more points when the ball goes inside the beer cup). The champion will win a substantial prize (i.e. trip to Busch Gardens). Live music will be the finishing touch to an event that makes guests marvel at The Mint!
Organizers envision a comfortable, (but fashionable!) neighborhood pub feel with the focal point being the bar/beverage area. While cocktail rounds will be arranged throughout, VIP “lounge areas” will be set along the outer rim of the event space, with specific seating reserved for sponsors and the remaining available to all guests.
