The City of Charlotte and CCCP would like to invite you to a information session aimed at residents and residential property managers of Uptown and South End to provide the latest on what to expect during the upcoming DNC, how it will impact your daily lives (and those of your tenants) and how you can get timely and important information.
Please join us at Discovery Place on Tuesday, August 14 at 7:00pm. The meeting will take place in the THEATER. Please use the 6th Street entrance at the corner of 6th and Church.
· CMPD will answer your questions about security
· The City of Charlotte will answer your questions about City services
· The City’s Communications Department will tell you how to get information
· Charlotte in 2012 Host Committee will tell you what is expected to happen over the Convention week and the weeks leading up to the Convention…and how you can be part of the event.
Darlene Heater from Charlotte Center City Partners will convene this meeting on behalf of all of our partners. More presenters may be added. If you have needs or questions that you want addressed. Please make sure she knows.
You are the ones who live and work in the heart of the City as we welcome VIP’s, dignitaries, elected officials and media from around the country and around the world. This is our chance to introduce ourselves to the world, expand the world’s understanding of Charlotte as a destination city, a leader in commerce and home to great urban neighborhoods.
As we welcome these world thought leaders to our City, we hope to turn that exposure into economic and business development opportunities, and to disrupt your lives as little as possible. It is the job of the City and Charlotte Center City Partners to keep our City “Open for Business” and “Open for Living”. We want to make this experience a smooth one for you, and engage your help to make Charlotte shine.
Please let us know if you can attend with your RSVP. We are trying to keep our numbers manageable, so we hope to invite representatives from each Neighborhood Association, each condo association, each apartment building association and every property manager in Uptown and South End. We then hope you will spread the word with your constituencies. We are limiting this to Uptown and South End, as you are the one who will be most impacted.
